Housekeeping staff must also follow health and safety protocols and procedures, ensuring their own safety and that of hotel guests.

Many members of housekeeping staff are promoted to supervisors, and often to housekeeping managers. The supervisors role is to check rooms to ensure the high quality of standards set by the hotel owners is adhered to and maintained by attendants.

Guest and customer satisfaction is the number one concern of a hotel. Therefore the housekeeping supervisor must posses the ability to communicate clearly with guests and other staff, again to portray a professional and courteous attitude.

All staff working in housekeeping jobs in hotels need to work together as a team, from beginning to end and from attendant to manager. This adds to the efficient running of the hotel, and welcoming atmosphere ensuring that guests return time and time again.
